It was a warm and sunny day with 36 souls eyeing for the Marc Rice perpetual trophies at the tough tracks of Boundary Oak Golf Course in Walnut Creek. The course itself was in good condition, but the greens were recently aerated and putting was a guessing game at best. However, good scores abound and at the end, we have five players tied for the low net of 68, by the tie breaking rules established by the club years ago, Mighty Joe Young, your tournament co-chair, emerged as victor to clam the Field Low Net prize. Alice Wong narrowly defeated Joyce Shao to claim the lady’s low net trophy. The award dinner at the Imperial Seafood Restaurant was also a winner, thanks to Doug Low, who pitched in to reserve the restaurant and selected the menu for us.
