Club Championship Results

147… 71 and 76… 3 over par for 2 rounds… the winning score of David Yip, our 2007 Club Champion. Shooting an exceptional 1-under par at Roddy Ranch, David held a 3- shot lead going into the second round of the Club Championship. After “grinding” out a 76 at Summitpointe, David extended his margin of victory to 8 shots and won a crystal bowl trophy, $75 cash and a box of Titleist Pro-V1s.

Jason Jeung captured the low net in the A flight by shooting net 64 and net 66. Jason shot a 79 at Roddy Ranch, the first time he has ever broken 80 and followed that up with a solid 81 at Summitpointe. George Kong, who was the only other player to shoot both rounds in the 70s, finished second in low gross and low net. Ken Fong came from 5 strokes back to take 3rd low net.

In the B flight, Nicholas Chin had the lowest gross and net totals to win the top prize, while low net honors went to Victor Jin who had declared himself “out of the tournament” after he scored a 13 on Hole 6 at Roddy Ranch. Al Lim held off Mark Wong, who made a furious comeback in shooting a net 66, to finish 2nd low net by 1 stroke. Amongst the women, Judy Lim won the ladies’ low net trophy with a closest to the pin that was “1 foot 19 ½ inches.”

At the conclusion of the round, everyone congregated at King Crab Restaurant for a delectable banquet dinner. Incoming President David Yip announced the newly elected Board members for the coming year. Crystal bowl trophies and cash prizes were handed out to the winners and Calcutta payouts were distributed for all the horses who placed. The syndicate of Mike Chee, Clem Leung, Seewell Leung and KK Tong won $900 for 1st low net in the A flight, while the syndicate of Chuck Chinn and Rudy Cristobal won $400 for 1st low net in the B flight.
