56 players signed up for Mare Island, but only 36 trekked out to Mare Island despite ominous skies and intermittent showers. 34 players actually made it out onto the golf course (Hugh Lee and Bet Lai showed up to provide moral support but did not play).
The course was in fairly good condition considering how much rain had dropped in the previous few days. There were only 1 or 2 very brief drizzle showers where an umbrella or rain jacket weren’t even needed. Also, the sun actually made a cameo appearance for a few holes during the round. All in all, it was a relatively dry day for golf and shame on those who didn’t come out because of a little wetness.
Remember to turn in your scorecards before you leave, even if you are in a hurry. Without your scorecards, we cannot tabulate your scores and thus you will be ineligible to win any prizes or skins.
