Eagle Ridge Results

40 brave souls made it out to Eagle Ridge to partake in Cha Cha Cha. The 10 teams hoped the modified best balls format would be of assistance, considering that several members and guests were playing this challenging course for the first time. A naturally difficult course became even tougher with the preposterous pin placements on almost every hole. The management must have mistaken OCGC for the PGA tour and had Sunday pins tucked in corners normally reserved for touring professionals. Some speculated that the greenskeeper had a rough night and was out to get us. This is in addition to the narrow fairways, invading hazards, generous bunkering, and the fast sloping, undulating, multi-tiered greens. How tough was it? Only 2 players broke 90, gross, and only 1 player broke net 70.

Rising above the bruised and battered was Mei-Mei Hong who shot a sizzling net 66 in leading her team of Dexter Hong, Steve Liu and Tom Yong to an overwhelming 13-shot victory over the next closest team. The husband-wife tandem proved to be quite potent as Dex also contributed with a net 70, the second lowest net score of the day. The rest were left in their dust wondering how such a triumph was attainable.

The Eagle Ridge staff and facilities were first class and I hope we come back here in the future. Congratulations to Mei-Mei, Dex, Steve and Tom and to all who won prizes. The survivors:
