Hiddenbrooke Results

A great turnout of 51 players ventured out to Hiddenbrooke to play this local course favorite. Despite the gusting winds and tricky greens, good scores were to be had. Under the Criss Cross format, players could salvage some bad front nine scores by playing well on the back nine, while others who posted good front nine scores could be ultra aggressive on the back nine. Strategy and good course management played vital roles in this scoring format.

After the results were tabulated, it was another tournament entered, another victory. Joe Young (net 26) used timely scoring and a healthy bicep to win the A flight while Shirley Lee (net 23) shot a scorching net 62 to capture the B flight. This same duo most recently won at the Marc Rice and must be considered early favorites for the Club Championship next month.

The question now remains: can anyone stop them on their winning streak? Perhaps David Yip, who shot a remarkable 1-under par, gross 71 (4 birdies, 3 bogeys), will have something to say about that. Or Dianne Richmond who finished 2nd by shooting a net 66 and finished 3rd at the Marc Rice. If you don’t come out and play, you’ll never give yourself the chance. Congratulations to Shirley and mighty Joe who each won $40 and a box of Titleist Pro-V1s and to all the winners.
